A Vision Realized
At Normandy I wore every hat and even made some new hats for myself to wear. We offered web design and development, photography, videography, graphic design, SEO, Social media strategy and management, and paid-ad campaign creation and optimization. Going from idea to full-service agency with over a dozen subscription-based clients in the peak of an unprecedented pandemic was no small feat. It was something that pushed me physically, mentally, and creatively.
A digital agency in print
What kind of digital agency buys a billboard? One that appreciates a good joke now and then. While this campaign overall failed at its goal to increase awareness, it wasn’t any less fun seeing something I designed on a real billboard in my neighborhood.
Room to grow
One of my favorite things about having near total creative freedom and little to no bureaucratic overhead was that we were allowed to grow and evolve as soon as we felt necessary. When we first built our internal website, it was aggressively average. As time went on, we gained more clients, and my skills grew, I saw our mediocre website as chance to reinvent ourselves. I had always wanted to add a level of depth and fluidity to our site, and I wanted to achieve that through blending a cinematic drone shot with a creative animation. To do this, I taught myself Adobe After Effects to match my knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and created an animation to showcase the next phase of our brand and one of our newest offered services.
Designing business cards was not Something I thought i was going to do when I walked into the office one week. With all of our growth efforts occurring online, it actually took a few months of operating the company to realize we needed them.
outsource nothing
It’s not easy leaving a company you helped create. You feel such a strong desire to keep pushing and growing that you look past the signs telling you it’s time for the next chapter. I look at my time at normandy and hold my head high knowing that the company is continuing to operate and even grow; and that’s because of the years of work i put in with my teammate amidst a myriad of speed bumps and potholes.
